We're heading to Seattle in a few minutes for a night in a hotel at the airport, and tomorrow morning, we're off to Colorado.

Our first stop is Fort Collins, where we'll have five full days to relax and get used to being at 5,000 ft elevation and hot weather before going to Denver to meet up with our Road Scholar group tour, The Best of Colorado's Historic Railroads. If you like old trains and mountains, have a look at that link!

We've never done a group tour, so that will be a new experience for us. I appreciated the detailed information sent to us ahead of time, including a suggested reading list. That's where I came across the two books featured today, both of which I enjoyed very much. I love social history, particularly when it's about women, and have great admiration for the women who went west to Colorado, whether married or single, and dealt with its many challenges in the 1800s. We have it so easy now!
