The best I could do in the circumstances

I've not had much luck trying to get close to any winter thrushes until today.

I came across a flock of around 25 Fieldfare and 15 Redwing. They were quite close to the road I was driving along but when I stopped they moved further away.

The weather was awful and the rain lashing the car but I thought I'd try a few shots. The ones with birds closest were in a hedge were spoilt by too many branches so this was the best I could do. Fieldfare left and Redwing right.
