This is the view taken from my hotel balcony looking in the opposite direction from yesterday's Blip. New Cairo is a rapidly expanding city that has grown out of the Saharan sand in the last 15 years. The work is ongoing as the sandy building plot next to the hotel reveals between the palm trees.
