Grottie Buckie

Clear skies and a warmer breeze make todays beach trip a more pleasant experience than yesterday's.  More interesting, for me, is the red algae in the bottom of this pool, from rotting seaweed in the warm conditions, one of may forming on the shores across the isles and quite the local visitor attraction!  Grottie Buckie is the name of this small beach, the sand is made of crushed shells and sea urchins. it is also the Shetland dialect for the common cowrie shell, but I've never found one here.
