Specklied Wood Butterfly

This creature flew inside the conservatory today during a flurry of cleaning ( visitor tomorrow). Once we had safely encouraged it outside, I ran for my camera and hurriedly took this before it flew off - hence the blurriness:)0!

Since the 1930's it has been in decline but recently it has expanded its range and is now widespread across England, Wales, and parts of Ireland and Scotland.
