Pretty pub

Another pub lunch, I'm doing well for eating out.
Today Normous had the company of three ladies. The other two were widows of two people who had been lifelong friends, part of a group of six which started in the church youth club and known as " the boys". Of the six boys now only three remain, together with six wives, but such was the strong friendship that we all still keep in touch.
So we drove to Marie's house and then took her and her guest Sue to this pretty pub at Mattingley, called the Leather Bottle. There we enjoyed an excellent meal and exchanged news, gossip and memories.
We had a loud clap of thunder in the night, and plenty of rain, and already the grass is beginning to turn green. It may be short lived as the hot weather is due to return.
