Holiday Pot

About a week ago the kids and I wrote lots of ideas of things we’d like to do in the holiday and put them into this pot.

Today we had no plans so we each picked out an activity... here’s the result. We managed 2/3. We went to the big soft play in Birmingham with Danny, Asha and Nate, then to the market where I bought fruit and veg, and Zion chose Carp at the fish market - served by a very child friendly man, who thankfully gutted and de-boned (mostly) the huge fish for us!

So, no cake was made as we suddenly had to work out how to cook carp, and find willing volunteers to come eat it with us! Gill, Andy and Gaynor agreed! Quite enjoyed the meal - braised red cabbage, fried carp, roasted new potatoes and crispy kale.

The kids then had toast with blackberry jam for dessert, unconventional I know - but they wanted to try the jam we’d made and we hadn’t got any bread at breakfast time!
