Dream Mischa Tebs

Today we took V100 Dream Mischa Tebs to the local hospital for xrays as we don't have xray facilities at the centre yet. So, just how does one keep a bear asleep for an hour and a half whilst off the anaesthetic machine? With careful monitoring, skill and little bit of luck! Especially if that bear is named Dream....Not known for her easy anaesthetics, she did have to have a difficult moment and start to move her head on the xray table.... It certainly made all the local hospital staff take a good few steps backwards! Turns out she is one of those bears that looks completely asleep one minute and is completely not the next!

Apart from that very small hiccup everything else went relatively smoothly though and we now finally have some xrays of her right foot (see above right image) to show the specialist surgeon when he visits in December. She is missing her front left paw and her right was broken (most likely when she was caught) and the paw has fused and healed facing backwards so she walks on the top of her paw, sometimes on the side of it. We are really hoping the specialist will be able to do something to help regain a little more mobility for this beautiful bear.

I also feature in one of the images in this blip... can you find me? :)
