Going against the flow...

Went into Cambridge this morning to meet Claire and then on to Ely and a drive out over the Fens...

Cambridge was very busy with groups of tourists being shown the sights and local people going about their business.

The harvest really is well advanced now, I took the two extras in the next village Hildersham. The shot of the combine harvester, a CLAAS Lexion 580 Terra-Trac is just the shot I've been trying for The light, sky, foreground, background and direction of travel all just right.  The tractor is a smart looking CLAAS 830 Axion with a Richard Western SWT20HS 20 tonne trailer.

The third extra is the smallest combine yet... A Sampo Rosenlew SR2010 plot harvester. It was painstakingly harvesting some test plots in a field of wheat just up the road from Linton. The machine is tiny as far a combines go and looked very cramped for the driver and data recorder in the cab.
