Strange Sculpture

Did a walk along the Waskerley Way at Consett today.  I have seen this sculpture many times but have never blipped it.  It is called Terris Novalis and is a stainless steel sculpture of a theodolite and was made by Tony Cragg.  It is twenty times the size of a normal one and measures six metres high.  if you look closely you will see that it is supported on animal feet.  Very strange!

We stopped of en route and had a sausage sandwich at a cafe.  The weather was just right - warm but with a nice breeze.
