Roman Museum on the Sea brows, Maryport

This building has had several uses prior to it becoming one of two Museums in Maryport. It was a Royal Navy Battery in the First World War, It also has been a Sea cadet establishment. I was left empty for quite a bit of time until it became the Roman museum, I houses one the biggest collection of Roman stones/ plinths in Cumbria if not the country. The building is situated not far from the remains (banking) of an important Roman fort, which was part of the roman wall defences,  it  is also close to a roman village that often has archaeology digs.
