Fields of stubble

I was out with the local walking group on Stage 3 of the Devon Heartland Way.  Its a quiet walk through the central parts of Devon and we were walking from North Tawton to Bow.  Fortunately the morning was fairly cloudy and cool as we headed off up the hill and across fields.  We were treated to some wonderful views towards both Exmoor and Dartmoor on the later part of the walk.  Lunch was taken in the attractive village of Zeal Monachorum.  By this time the sun had broken through and we stopped off for a quick cool drink in the nearby pub.  The last few miles felt very hot and we managed almost 11 miles in total.

A lovely walk across fields through some woodland and along quiet lanes.  At one point the only traffic we had met comprised a horse rider, tractor with a large bale of straw, a vehicle and us all arriving at the same point on the narrow lane.
