With the re-opening of the east end it's now possible to use Princes Street as part of the way home but it usually involves waits at at least three lights including the two at the other end which seem unusually long, as buses pass through the single-width channel. Unfortunately, whilst Queen Street is being buggered-about with at the east end in a non-squeezable-through way there aren't too many alternatives when I'm in as much of a rush as I allow myself to be.
