Supper in London

You know how you sometimes come across the perfect restaurant - but it's closed, or they're about to close, or there's no tables free and a queue of people waiting...?

Well, tonight we found it and it was open, and there was space, and the food was delicious, the prices were reasonable and the people who run it very friendly.

It's a chippy with a difference: serving mainly fresh fried fish with chunky chips, but meat and vegetarian dishes as well, (and oysters) in a small premises that apes a seaside cafe (tables outside too) with mouthwatering ice cream to boot.

These are my Cornish sprats - my companion had skate. Lavender and honey ice cream and an espresso to follow.

So if you're feeling peckish in North London don't miss The Beach Hut in Highbury Park.
