Pheasant Berry Foraging

We have some of these pheasant berry shrubs growing in the jungly area we are in the process of clearing. We can see the shrubs from our bedroom window and at this time of year we often watch the blackbirds eating the pheasant berries. This is the first bird I have seen on this bush this year.

Following on from the signs of bat activity we saw when Mary and I went to clean the church earlier this week, there was a very large bat hanging on the wall above the pulpit in church this morning. Anne, the organist said she could hear their high pitched squeaking all through the service - so they are definitely around
