Swan on the Tyne

Molly decided to come with me when I took mum home this evening and so we went for a walk along the Tyne. Spotted both swans and a young heron. The swans looked as majestic as ever gliding to and fro. It's a shame there were no cygnets this year but I believe one of the swans was attacked by a dog near the nest and so they abandoned it not long before any eggs were due to hatch.
The heron was fixated on something in the reeds and we had to wait quite a while for it to come out. Can't of been too much of a threat as there were some ducks within a few feet of it not bothered at all.
