Drummond Castle Gardens

The highlight today was a visit to Drummond Castle to see the gardens. Getting there was something of a challenge for the Satnav, which not for the first time took us to the wrong entrance. We followed the road around the estate until we found the main entrance.

I had checked opening times before heading out, it turned out that today there was a Scottish Gardens event and it was opening later the usual. We passed sometime at the nearby Creiff visitor centre before heading back.

The gardens were very spectacular, and there were several events taking place associated with the Scottish Gardens open day. These included, country dancing, pipe bands, doggie obedience training (Cosmo would have been impressed), classic cars and several others.

After a couple of hours at Drummond we went over to Dunkeld for a walk around the village and refreshments.

The extra shows the original castle which also forms the entrance to the more modern mansion behind.
