Red Lilies

Rubrum lilium.They all made it this year! Thanks to coarse sand mulch the slugs did not eat the buds. Last year all the red lilies fed the  slugs before blooming. Super fragrant!!
Any plant I want to save I put a thick pile of sand around the base of the stems. Tra-la!
The yellow leaves in front are Bleeding Hearts (dicentra)  ready to die out for this year.
