Watching in awe...

Today we travelled from Egilstadir to Skutustadir, battling strong gale force wind and driving rain. Whilst most of Europe is sweltering with temperatures easily above 35 C in Antwerp, we struggled to reach 5 C. So when we arrived to have a look at the Dettifoss waterfall (we arrived there after making good use of the 4 wheel drive) we had to don our rain gear and were all wishing we did pack our gloves.... The waterfall is truly spectacular, though! With all the rain, the water was very muddy (almost brown) and came down in a roar. Wow! Thanks to Bart (def. a movie buff) , I now know this waterfall was the background to a scene in the 2012 Prometheus film. Definitely, another spectacular scene of Iceland.
