Not the Crazy 88's

10.9C. Mild, dull, and damp. Not much rain to speak of but lots of damp.

BBC 4 had a repeat of Yotam Ottolenghi's program on cuisine in Jerusalem last night. Glad I caught it again. Most interesting.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk before lunch as the weather forecast on the web showed rain for the afternoon. We walked down the road to the shore again and along to the level crossing. The tide wasn't as high today, high tide being 14.10. More sand to walk on but not many finds today. We saw the four whippets and their owner. They were coming along towards us just as we were approaching the Fishermen's huts. Two of them decided to charge at Maeve. We just stood still and they rushed by. One day if there is lots of hard wet sand I might let Maeve off her lead and teach them a lesson in who chases who !

Lots of gulls in the little waves at the edge of the water again. Much smaller calmer waves today with a grey almost misty look out over the water. 'Valhalla VI' was out at sea. We could just see her in the distance towards Easthaven. The dingy was moored at the furthest post in the boat channel. No one was at the huts. Maeve and I pottered about at the huts and then along the beach to the car park. No rain had appeared and we were in no particular rush. I have had music from the Nano plugged into my ears the last couple of days when walking after not bothering with it for a while. Yesterday was Jean Michel Jarre's Oxygene and today it was Fleetwood Mac.

Later it might rain, or it might not :-)
