Dad's Birthday

We enjoyed a family gathering today to celebrate my dad's 79th birthday.
He has been a member of The New Golf Club in St Andrews since 1977. Although just a normal member now he has been in the past a Captain of the club. I have visited his club on numerous occasions over the years but last night, when we all went for a meal there, I was struck by what an amazing view you get from the dinner table. There are not many places in the world that could boost such a view whilst sitting down to dinner - it had to be Blipped!!
If you are a golfer then you'll know this is a picture of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club, looking at the 1st tee and 18th green of The Old Course, St Andrews. If you are not a golfer then quite simply this is Golf Head Quarters. All rules for golf, decisions and plans are made in this building.
I thought it was looking rather grand tonight.
Also, just to add to my dad's golfing life he was lucky enough to have his office in the very building we are looking at. He looked out on the 1st tee from his window on the second floor of the R&A.
As you can tell golf is in his blood and I'm happy to report he still plays golf every week.
Happy Birthday Dad
