Brimstone

This lovely fresh male brimstone butterfly was so busy nectaring he didn't mind me getting in close.

According to my butterfly book it seems quite probable that the yellow colour of the brimstone gave rise to the name butter-coloured fly which has since been contracted to 'butterfly'.
