Fell Foot

Today's the day ………………………… to wade in the water

Will's birthday today - and so his choice of places to go.

A nice lunch at Blackwell, the Arts & Crafts House  and then a look round at the current exhibitions.  Blackwell  was once where Will worked - long before it was transformed into the delightful visitor attraction that it has become today.  So it's always interesting to go and stand in the room that was once his office (now the Jocelyn Morton Room) and remember how it used to look.  Added to that, the food is delicious.

Then a drive along Windermere to Fell Foot Park - a country park, formerly the grounds of a Victorian house, situated beside the lake and in the ownership of the National Trust.  It's a great place for families to do things in and on the water.  The sun shone and it was very pleasant to stroll along beside the water's edge.  Oh - and did I say they do wonderful cream teas?

He's off out to hear some jazz tonight with his friend Paul - so I think the birthday will have been well and truly celebrated ……………………….
