Oh Dear

What an exhausting day.

Up early to catch a train, courtesy of privatised transport, to get into the office as driving to the city (Glasgow) today was not advised thanks to road closures to accommodate bike time trials as part of the European Championships.

Fair enough. Sound advice. And after all, it’s only one day for an event that benefits the city on many levels.

At 3pm I was alerted to the fact that there was trouble afoot with said trains due to a power/line failure that affected my route.

So, after checking online to find out that there indeed was chaos looming, I left early, walked to nearest station (1.5mile), caught a train to Queen St and utter chaos.

I simply don’t know how our transport system in this country works.

From rude, surly and uninformed station staff to tightly packed an overpriced train carriages, it was (is) horrendous.

Shocking stuff.

Education, health and transport services simply should not be in the hands of people out to make profit.

Corners are cut, service is reduced and when that happens, it’s Armageddon.

Goodness only knows what the visitors to our country think.

Our infrastructure simply cannot cope.

Forgive the mini political rant, but I’m truly stressed and further forgive me opening (actually finishing) a bottle of Merlot to calm shredded nerves, as per blip image.
