Lucky timing

So pleased that I walked into the bedroom when I did, and spotted this Jersey Tiger Moth on the window. It's the first time I've been able to have a good look at its beautifully patterned thorax. When I went outside, it took fright - with a flash of vermilion of its hind wings - but it only flew as far as a bush in the garden, so I was able to grab a picture of its tiger-wings. Feel so lucky!

This morning it clouded over and as I walked to the village post office and back it rained, very, very few drops. As soon as I was home, it stopped again. Obviously, I need to go for a longer walk with no coat if we can expect anything resembling a downpour!
