Percy the pukeko

Not a great photo but Percy said he wasn’t staying round for me to take a better one. Unfortunately Percy has decided our small garden is now his territory. I wouldn’t mind so much if pūkekoes were more into sharing, but if a pukeko sees something they fancy in the vegetable line it is pulled out roots and all. They are pretty lethal as regards sharing fruit trees too! I’m now just hoping Percy doesn’t bring a mate to share his bounty this Spring.
However he is pretty (about the size of a hen but with longer legs)
