Senescence

The prolonged heat has really taken its toll on the garden, and we now have very little flowering. Many plants that would normally be providing colour and nectar at this time of year have already shrivelled, like this Yellow Ox-eye.

But the continuing fine weather meant that Alex was able to get on with restoring three small wooden tables and half a dozen chairs for use at Chris and Lizzy's party. These had been sadly neglected but after a thorough scrub and sand down are looking almost good as new!
