Up to the edge of the crater!

Today we had a late start, but we did a full day of exploring the (sometimes bizarre) landscapes of Myvatn. Our first stop was to wander in the landscape created by a volcanic event 2000 yrs ago, Dimmunorgir - our first incredible landscape of the day. We then climbed the crater Hverfjall (photo). By then we were all hungry and had lunch in Reykjahlid. Then we explored the geothermally very active area of Krafta and Namaskard (see extra). We ended the day in the “blue lagoon of the North “, the Myvatn Nature baths (see extra).
