Fletchers Park

Joined my newly found Tai Chi group  for some outdoor practice in Fletcher's Park this morning. It started to rain. It's only a shower said  I - newbie Lakes resident and not really an expert on the rain types in the Lakes. They have so much of the stuff here they probably have different words for different types of shower.  Anyway, the locals said - oh no , its set in for the morning so we all went back to our cars to go home. Well what do they know- it was only a shower,  By the time I had taken  photos of this rather splendid  wood carving  and got back to my car the rain had stopped but the rest of the class had disappeared. What a wimpish lot, I would have thought them more hardy.  Anyway, it turns out the seat was carved by local chainsaw & chisel  wood sculpture artist Andy Levy with the coat of arms  of Catherine Parr who married Henry VIII hence the throne. The Parr family came from Kendal and owned Kendal Castle which is next to the park
