Angry Bear

P&N took us on a tour of the Wirral - they really did us proud. Started out at Perch Rock, then on to the waterfront near Woodside, and the one-o'clock gun, Birkenhead Park (England's first public park, much admired by Olmstead), Port Sunlight for lunch, then Eastham Woods and the Tram Museum in Birkenhead.

This is N acting the part of the bear in the Bear Pit in Eastham Country Park. The Bear Pit is a relic of the Victorian Pleasure Gardens at Eastham. Families would come by boat from Liverpool to enjoy the entertainment - which included, amongst other more more genteel activities - bear baiting.

Packed ready for our early start tomorrow, then had a celebratory dinner at the hotel, which I think everyone really enjoyed. I certainly did. Sad to say our goodbyes though.
