I was trying to go for a kind of abstract/pattern theme ... oh well. I took 20 photos and this was the only one to survive the cull.

Yesterday we took delivery of the wood we first ordered in May. Having run out last year, we ordered six stères to be on the safe side and were rather dreading the chore of stacking it on a blazing hot afternoon. But happily our visiting British neighbour M was passing with a small selection of his kids (three) and he swiftly got them to work -- even the seven-year-old. So instead of spending all afternoon on it we were done and dusted within less than two hours. Cue a well-earned beer (the kids eschewed this and headed for the pool).

A more chilled day today ... watering the garden, I picked some deep red tomatoes and made Rachel Roddy's tomato risotto for dinner. It was really delicious -- highly recommended. I don't usually put butter in risotto nowadays, but I made an exception for this.
