Cicada Hatch

I was fortunate to come across a Cicada emerging from it's shell this afternoon.  I was running the line trimmer in the front yard, getting ready to mow the lawn when I saw this guy crawling out of his shell.  By the time I went in the house and got my camera it was already out and clinging to the tree.  As it began to crawl up the tree the wings continued to stretch out. The time from the first shot to the last in this sequence is 13 minutes. It was super cool to see.  Cicadas are a favorite of mine. As I was watching and taking pics, I noticed 4 or 5 other abandoned shells on the tree. Cicada season is in full swing!
