View from Henkel Hut, Lake Tekapo

We took a short break to forget about EQC for a while, and stayed 3 nights at The Chalet, in Lake Tekapo. This is the view from our accommodation, quaintly called 'Henkel Hut', but very well appointed with a stunning view of the lake. I used to stay at The Chalet years ago when I was working on hawkweed, Hieracium pilosella, on neighbouring high country stations (farms), and it was gratifying that Zita remembered me. Zita and Walter are very hospitable, and Zita is a hugely talented interior designer. So all their units are different from each other, but tastefully furnished and very comfortable. We can't afford to stay there so often these days, but it was a great treat to go back and enjoy the views.

We had great weather, and made use of our kayak and bikes that we took with us.
