Truly Blippin' Marvelous

Small badge

and another small badge in the extra; but neither are as small as the Knights of Columbus badge I blipped a while ago.

When Kathy was stationed at RAF Lakenheath we lived in that corner of Norfolk close to the county boundaries of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. I went bellringing nearly every evening and crossed diocesan boundaries which are different from secular boundaries (that's a lot of boundaries). The parish where we lived in Norfolk was in the diocese of Ely and I rang regularly at churches in the diocese of Norwich and occasionally in Suffolk churches within the diocese of St Edmundsbury.

The bell in the Ely badge is rather shapeless and illustrates a cannon retaining headstock; the bell portrayed on the Norwich badge is more realistic with a modern metal headstock with a socket for the stay shown but it is missing one of the other details . . . the left gudgeon.
