Who knows where this bridge leads?

Salford - some kind of suburb of Manchester,yes?
So Salford quays - a cosy little area, redbrick, a bit twee?
I could not have been more wrong.
Whatever or wherever Salford is, being driven through Salford quays to find the Lowry (to watch Michael Bourne's take on 'Sleeping Beauty' which was well worth the effort) was like starting out in an industrial estate and ending up in a fold in an alternative space/time. All those streets and buildings and darkness couldn't fit into a reality that includes Eccles.
