Fringe Day

You can't say you have been to the Fringe if you have not seen something terrible and today was that day. - the most terrible cabaret acts to while away time between The Photography Exhibition and Ian Rankin. Here is friend A waiting to  go in . She is partially sighted so we always jump the queue, get to sit in the front and she gets a free ticket for her carer- thats me. We only paid £6 for our ticket so it's hardly surprising it was terrible . The Photography Exhibition on the other hand was very good. Better than last year I thought,  although still rather too many "super processed" pics for my liking, A collage of a few that caught my eye is attached. The Edinburgh International Photography Exhibition has been going since 1861. They  receive about  2000 prints from 300 photographers in 30 countries that get whittled down to the 202 that are exhibited. Getting through to the Exhibition is a highly sought after achievement in itself.  I particularly liked the guy sitting at his dining room table reading the paper which was one of the 25 or so that won an award. Another favourite was the highland cow with the washing line entitled My Life is Pants- which also won an award
