Around and around

This is a new interactive art installation in one of DC's hip (read 'very expensive') neighborhoods -- City Center. 

It's called LOOP and consists of 6 giant zoetropes – an animation device that combines film, music and optical illusion. When a zoetrope is activated, images are shown in rapid succession, creating the illusion of motion. 

People sit inside the loop and activate it by 'rowing' the central bar. There are warnings that those subject to epilepsy should not attempt this... Sorta cool, though I need to go back at night and see it illuminated (as shown in the pictures from the inserted link).
