Port Sunlight Visit

Today M.and myself had an early start as we were travelling by train to Port Sunlight the village built for the workers of Lever Brothers makers of Sunlight soap. We had a guided tour around the village the guide was really good and told us lots of things about the vilage and all the different types of houses, and also the bridge that was used in the programme 'Peaky Blinders we also saw the house that was Aunt Polly's house(again the same programme) it was also used in the film 'Chariots of Fire'. After lunch we went into one of the workers cottages and also the museum. We then walked back towards the station stopping off for a piece of cake in the tearooms there. We were late arriving back into Wolverhampton as there was a trespasser on the tracks so the train had to stop and wait till the trespasser had moved. Tired now been a long day YAWN!.

PS. Did you know the Beatles played at Port Sunlight the first night Ringo Starr joined the band.
