Kowhai is flowering

The first signs of spring are arriving in Dunedin - not at home in Central Otago though. Wandering around Woodhaugh Gardens today I spotted the first kowhai flowers. Then I heard the bell birds singing as they fed on the nectar. Very special.

I'm going to miss our amazing spring this year as I'm going away in another week. Spring is stunning here. I'll just have to make sure I'm at home next spring. Maybe there will be the end of spring when I arrive home after the month away - just maybe.

Walked 11000 steps today - if I want to be fitter I'll have to lift my game.
