Sense of Purpose

Lamminrannantie

When it comes to infrastucture, Puhos is perhaps not your typical Finnish village of 400 habitants. Not many villages of that size in Finland have five highrise buildings (four floors each, immediately on the right outside picture). This is mostly due to Puhos' history as an industrial location. The highrise buildings, as well as a row house, were built sometime in the 60's or early 70's to accommodate the workers at the factories (which are across the lake that is seen in horizon here). The detached houses in the central Puhos are also next to each others as in a sub-urban area. Although Puhos doesn't have all the services (bars, bank, etc.) it used to have, we still have a small shop with a post service.

Anyways, this is a view from Lamminrannantie (a street/road) in Puhos.
