Moreish isn't in it

We crossed the Channel almost exactly a year ago. Everywhere we have been, everywhere that we go, we see these - in supermarkets, boulangeries and eateries. We had been successful in never succumbing - the main reason being that they are almost always packaged in seemingly ridiculous quantity. I mean... there's only the two of us...

Dare I admit to the fact that yesterday this was  pack of 30 of these wee darlings and that after afternoon coffee, these are all that remained?

No, we had no visitors, just the two of us.

Chouquette may just be my new favourite thing. Small bitefuls of deliciously light and eggy choux pastry, covered in crunchy sugar pieces. Oh, my. These ones were of supermarket origin and cost a whopping €12,38 per kilo but 30 weigh only 210 grammes and cost €2,60.

Nice, for an occasional treat but must not make a habit of it!
