On yer bikes!

We came home from Edinburgh today and as usual, once past Callander it began to drizzle.

We stopped off in Balquhidder Station at 'The Golden Larches' restaurant for a quick lunch. The station, once part of the Callander and Oban line, closed in 1965 when the line was discontinued - this is the old access tunnel, now inaccessible. The station above is now a holiday park and 'The Golden Larches', from whose doorway over the road  I took this picture, was the local post office. There are quite a number of old railway photographs in the restaurant.

A couple of bikers stopped beside the tunnel before for crossing the road for lunch, so I included them in the picture.

Big traffic queues all the way from Crianlarich to Tyndrum due to some minor roadworks - the normally 10 minute drive took nearly an hour!
