WAIMATE SILOS

The first painting depicts Norman Kirk, who was the 29th Prime Minister of New Zealand, from 1972 till his sudden death in 1974. He was mayor of Kaiapoi from 1953 till 1957 when he was elected to the NZ Parliament.
Eric Batchelor was a decorated NZ soldier who died in WW2.

Margaret Cruickshanks was the first registered Lady Doctor in Nz. Born 1873 - died 28th November 1918 of influenza in Waimate.
