I've been thinking about getting a macro lens, but not sure what to get.
I've been told that I'd be better to get a reversing ring and use with lenses that I already have, so I had a wee look at instruction videos and tried turning my 50mm lens around and just holding it against the camera, to see how it might work. You can definitely get a much more magnified image, but its very hard to focus (see the blurry extra) I also just used my usual lens and cropped the picture (extra shows it uncropped). 

A reversing ring costs about £7, the lens I have my eye on costs about £700, so it might be worth trying out the ring first!
