"If I should fall, build me again"

The House of The Blackheads was first built in 1344, developed and extended across the centuries until it was completely destroyed by the Soviets in 1948. It used to house the unmarried members of the merchants guild who, by all accounts, were real "party animals". It was finally rebuilt in 1990 fulfilling the medieval saying above the main door - If I should fall, build me again."

Not sure why it's called The House of Blackheads..... maybe imagine lots of spotty, darkhaired merchants partying away on a Saturday night!
