Golden Valley

What shall we do today?
That means we were going to do something today!
You choose!
But you wanted to go somewhere?

So we went for a walk we had done fifty years ago but not since.
From Briscombe, once the largest inland port in the UK towards Sapperton Tunnel, once the longest tunnel in the world. And all on the once mighty Thames and Severn Canal.

This was the canal that inspired my interest in canals and the joys of walking through our industrial past and achievements.
And it still did today.

Blip and extras shows Chalford village and  buildings tucked into the valley and a new use for a mill alongside the canal.

I think Queen Victoria called it the "Golden' Valley when she came through on the new railway built using the canal. Was it in Spring or the Autumn?
