Beaches

We have only been here for 2 days but it is clear that the Isle of Lewis and Harris has the most incredible set of fine sandy beaches I've ever seen.
Our day started early with a walk straight from our holiday house along the coast taking in a secluded beach as seen in the main blip.
Then we drove to Uig Sands in the south west of Lewis where the beach and views are huge, as you can see in extras.
The final extra shows our stunning eco house (not the ruin in the foreground) but the second from left, a baby version of the owners house. The house has direct views out of the lounge over the lily covered loch and beach. It is built to a high standard and the furnishings are  styled by the artist owners. It really fits well in the surroundings and makes a statement. So much so that we bizarrely had an elderly German gentleman just walk in and ask if he could look around, I said no and walked him out noisily locking the door after him. I wish I had said most people knock before they come in. He looked perfectly normal and sounded well educated and it didn't feel threatening at all, we just watched him continue his coastal hike.
