The Way of Colour

Arran from Ardlamont

Went for a drive round the single track road that runs South from Kames to Ardlamont. Views across to the West side of Bute, Inchmarnock, then as the road rounds the bottom of Cowal the North of Arran can be seen clearly. We carried on past Kilbride church and up to Millhouse. From Millhouse (where there used to be a gunpowder factory) we carried on up the West side of Cowal on more single track road to Otter Ferry. There is a nice walk there along the shore of the Ballimore estate.

Coming back to the car at the end of the walk it started to rain so the plan to sit outside the Oystercatcher pub  and have lunch was shelved. We drove back along to Millhouse then took the road to Kames. We stopped in Kames to try the Little Kitchen cafe (with Post Office). Excellent, and dog friendly.

Extras:
Morning, looking towards Kames
Arran from Ardlamont
Across Loch Fyne from by Otter Ferry
Evening Rainbow over the Isle of Bute
