Mostly Six Five Oh

A piece of San Francisco History has come to a close, the Nob Hill Theatre has been sold and Sunday was its final day.  I used to walk by this theater every day for years on my way to work in the Financial District.  It's a long a winding story so I'll cut to the chase - my friend Lucy (on the left) was introducing us to Robert and Stu over dim sum, Stu is a realtor and we need a realtor.  Over our lunch conversation and talk of San Francisco stories/landmarks/changing city landscapes it turned out that Stu is the sellers' agent for the Nob Hill Theatre, it was the theater's last day and there was a bbq and did we want to go?  Of course!  So we had a guided tour, met the owners, and learned a lot about the history of the theater.  Tomorrow parts of the interior will be disassembled and will be going to the GLBT Historical Society as part of a new exhibit and documentary.  The theater and building will now move on to its next phase as something totally different.  City life!
