Time flies

When you are messing around with a camera.
My reversing ring arrived and I had a wee play with it. It certainly magnifies the subject (these images are not cropped at all) but its not very easy to use.
As the electronic connections don't work, it has to be on manual. That's not a problem, but the aperture is stuck on its widest opening , which means that the depth of field is very shallow indeed. It may be OK if you are trying to photograph  something that is very flat, but most things aren't (see extras). 
Oh well, I guess I'll just need to buy a new lens.

Though I might just have to buy some extension tubes to play with first...
